The teacher invites student to reflect on natural resources, their benefit for human beings, and how to take care of them. If you ask reflection questions, address them with students before starting the activities. How long will nature resist the pressure human beings are exerting upon it? For how many generations will available resources be enough at this level of consumption? Human beings have used a considerable amount of natural resources as a basis for the development of societies. Despite the large number of services nature has provided us with, we have altered and transformed its structure and processes with huge infrastructure works throughout time. Society has obtained great economic benefits from these transformations; however, this has considerably affected ecosystems and the resources they offer. We are demanding too much from nature; sooner or later, it will cease to provide. Are you ready for when that moment comes?
